Skechers GoRun Ultra Road
The Ultra Road 3 has a lot in common with its sister, the MaxRoad Ultra, including its very similar name. Both are also two of the most highly cushioned shoes in Skechers’ GoRun fleet, making them the best for both runners and walkers who prefer a highly-cushioned shoe. Both also have the same ultra modern flat knit upper in a variety of colors. The differences between the two lie in the midsole cushioning, with the Ultra Road 3 using the brand’s Resalyte cushioning system instead of the super light Ultra-Flight foam. This is a significant difference too because Resalyte is a total departure from TPU foam and is instead an “injection-molded compound” that has memory retention. That’s right. After a short period of breaking in the shoes, the midsole conforms to the contours of your foot to provide the most cushioning and bounce back where you personally need it most. It’s an interesting concept and a bold move further into the world of serous running shoes for Skechers. Resalyte is a little denser, making the shoe a good two ounces heavier than the MaxRoad, and it also comes equipped with the drainage vents that are helpful for keeping feet dry in damp weather. If a somewhat heavier shoe doesn’t bother you and this latest midsole technology intrigues you, the Ultra Road 3 is another highly cushioned option from which to choose.
